Cudjoe Bay, located directly off of the Atlantic Ocean is an open run out to phenomenal fishing, coral reefs and the crystal blue waters of the Gulf Stream. A Quick ten-minute trip brings you to the Gulf Side of the Keys and into the Great White Heron National Wildlife Refuge, perfect for a kayak or small boat. Bird watchers bring your binoculars! Let this Florida Keys home, be your home away from home. Perfect for a family or a group of friends this elevated waterfront house features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large bay view balcony, a boat ramp, canal front dockage, parking and a spectacular view overlooking Cudjoe Bay. Splendid in its simplicity, this waterfront home boasts a cool Florida feel. When you decide to stay close to home, the Square Grouper, one of the Keys best restaurants, is only a mile away. Within a few miles is a great Tiki Bar, the Boondocks and they feature mini golf and great fish sandwiches. There are a few nice markets close by and many restaurants that offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. Big Pine is a quick drive north of Cudjoe Key and is a national preserve well known for its miniature deer. Take time to explore the Florida Keys waters. Lobster hunting is a favorite local pastime, make sure you are in season! Also, the spectacular coral reefs of Looe Key are just a short boat ride away as is Bahia Honda State Park. If you need a boat to explore the surrounding waters, boat rentals are available from Tim at Cudjoe rentals 305-923-9478. Come and explore all that the Florida Keys has to offer! |

Have you ever wanted to really see the ocean and its wildlife? The only way to get an in depth look at the fish, coral and othe natural wonders is by slapping on a scuba suit and swimming with the fishes! One of nature’s most fantastic wonders is a live coral reef, and the only one in the continental United States parallels the 126-mile length of the Florida Keys.

Explore the Florida Keys Under the Sea
Scuba diving is a healthy recreational activity and even those as young as age 10 can learn and enjoy to scuba. But before you slap on a tank and head for the blue waters off the Keys you should plan to spend at minimum 5 days in an entry-level certification training course. This will prepare you for the adventures to come and can be a great way to spend a Florida Keys Vacation.
Basic certification requires both classroom work and pool training and generally runs a couple hundred dollars. You will follow that by at least one open water dive at the beautiful Florida Keys Reef. Once you are ready you will need to pass a test and a required number of dives. Congratulations, you have become a certified scuba diver. With your certification you are now eligible to rent dive gear and book dive trips most anywhere worldwide – but definitely ready to dive anywhere in the Florida Keys.
